Regular Visits

Continuing Chiropractic Care

Thumper Massage

During a regular visit your treatment consists of chiropractic adjustments. In our office we also use physical therapy tools such as ultrasound and soft tissue massage to help your body heal faster. Most of our patients are given homework such as self care instructions, posture tips, and exercises. These often include stretching and strengthening exercises that will retrain the muscles that help you hold your adjustments.

How much homework you get depends upon you. Some of our patients simply want to come in periodically for a quick adjustment. Others prefer to be given lots of information about self care to minimize the need to come in and see us. Either way, it’s up to you. How much care you receive depends upon your goals. We are here to help you achieve those goals.

After the investment of time needed on the first and second visits, many patients become concerned that every visit will be of equal length. In a word: no. A typical office visit may require fifteen to twenty minutes of your time.

With the groundwork laid, we can quickly size how your spine and nervous system are working, adjust you and get you on your way. Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit and we can lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes.

We recognize your time is valuable. We do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.

Dr. Kevin Asks some important questions of interest to Goleta residents - Chiropractor Goleta Dr. Kevin Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.
