Your First Visit to Our Goleta Practice

New patients are warmly welcomed to our Goleta chiropractic office.

New patients often remark how “homey” our office is. That’s good, because our goal is to offer state-of-the-art chiropractic care in a comfortable surrounding.  So, make yourself at home!  We want you to know is that we will do everything we can, as soon as we can to help you feel better.

Make Yourself at Home

You’ll be greeted by name when you enter our office. If you’ve already completed your admitting paperwork, great! Before meeting the doctor you will be given the opportunity to discuss any questions about insurance or finances. Depending upon whether you have seen a chiropractor before or how much discomfort you are in we may show you a short 5-minute orientation video. Then you’ll meet Dr. English.

We Explain Everything First

The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem. During the exam Dr. English will explain each of the tests and what they indicate. If warranted, x-rays will be taken to help us identify the cause of your problem. Check out the "Only At English Chiropractic" page to learn more about our special x-ray equipment.

Once again, if you are in pain, we will do everything we can on your first visit to help you begin feeling better. You will also be given “home care” instructions, such as how to use heat or ice.

Dr. Kevin Asks some important questions of interest to Goleta residents - Chiropractor Goleta Dr. Kevin Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.
